This year, Patria Pilot Training, an organisation providing integrated ATPL(A) training, will train three Russian pilot trainee groups of different levels from the St. Petersburg University for Civil Aviation.

The training is a continuation of collaboration initiated in 2009 with the Saint-Petersburg State University for Civil Aviation. At the beginning of June, a group of approximately 30 Russian trainees will arrive in Finland. The training partnership will provide the University with the additional pilot training capacity required to alleviate the pilot shortage in Russia. During their first summer semester at Patria, the Russian trainees will receive private pilot training, in compliance with the European civil aviation regulations (JAR-FCL). During the following two summer semesters, they will pursue their studies further, gaining the in-depth knowledge required to operate in the European aviation environment. The courses are also designed to enhance the trainee’s proficiency in English.

Patria Pilot Training is an organisation providing basic and advanced training in civil aviation. The flying school’s main offering is the integrated ATPL(A) training programme compliant with JAR-FCL. Patria Pilot Training is the sole foreign training organisation approved to provide basic aviation training for Russian pilot trainees. In Russia, university-level education in civil aviation takes five years to complete. During their studies, the students will be trained at Patria across three consecutive years.
