The Kazakhstan Civil Aviation Academy and Patria Pilot Training have signed an agreement on the provision of commercial pilot training. A memorandum of understanding regarding the agreement was signed during President Sauli Niinistö's state visit to Kazakhstan in April of last year.

Patria will train 12 Kazakh students, chosen from amongst approximately 60 applicants, by the end of 2015. The training will begin with theory instruction in Kazakhstan, and the students will travel to Finland for flight training in May 2014.  Upon completion of the training, the students will receive commercial pilot licences (CPL) with multi-engine and instrument ratings in compliance with the regulations of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). The students will also be fully trained in airline transport pilot theory and crew operations.

Patria is also negotiating with the Kazakhstan Civil Aviation Academy on the training of flight instructors for the Academy and the establishment of a local training centre in Kazakhstan.

”This agreement represents a significant stride in the expansion of our international pilot training operations. Preparations for the practical side of instruction are well under way, and we are ready to begin the cooperation,” says Patria Pilot Training CEO Mikko Paronen.
