Patria Pilot Training Oy and Nordic Regional Airlines Oy, Norra, will continue the basic training of commercial pilots. The new course now agreed will begin in April 2018. Applications can be submitted via Patria’s website from 15 November 2017; the selection process will begin in February 2018. No previous aviation training is required among those selected for the course. Students who pass the course gain a provisional promise of a job and priority in filling a vacancy as a co-pilot. Commercial pilot training is self-sponsored by the students. If necessary, Patria can guarantee a study loan, so that funding does not stand in the way of career aspirations.

“We are delighted to be able to continue with aviation training for Norra. Patria’s strong expertise and 20 years of experience of basic training guarantee a high level of professional expertise among future co-pilots. Together with Patria’s funding guarantee, Norra’s provisional promise of a job is a great overall concept for students. We believe that this will lower the threshold for applying to Norra among gifted youngsters,” says Mikko Paronen, Managing Director of Patria Pilot Training Oy.

“The current outlook indicates that we will continue to have a strong need for pilots for several years ahead. It is important that we select the right people to join our operations in this responsible and fine profession.” Close cooperation with Patria during flight training guarantees a good start for co-pilot duties with Norra,” says Maunu Visuri, CEO of Norra.

Patria operates from its new training centre next to Tampere-Pirkkala airport, where most of Norra’s training is completed.
