Change negotiations in Patria’s Pilot Training function arranging professional civilian pilot training concluded
Change negotiations have been held in Patria’s Pilot Training operations on its possible termination during 2025. The function is mainly focused on arranging professional civilian pilot training in Pirkkala in Tampere and Vantaa, Finland and in Córdoba in Spain. The plan will not have an impact on Patria’s military pilot training activities.
Patria's Pilot Training operations have not been sustainably profitable in the long term, so after negotiations, the termination of the employment of all 36 employees in Finland is being considered on production-related and financial reasons due to the gradual decline in the training activities of airline pilots. The training is planned to end during 2025, so that the last pilots would graduate in November 2025. After this, the company's training activities would cease.
The layoffs under consideration would take place between February 2025 and December 2025 in relation to the timetables for the completion of ongoing training courses. Due to possible post work, the last layoffs could take place during the first half of 2026.
Efforts are still being made to find an external successor for Patria Pilot Training Oy's business or part of it. The buyer is currently unknown, and if a corporate transaction or a similar arrangement were to take place, the effects would be assessed separately in both Finland and Spain. The effects on personnel in Córdoba will be resolved separately, taking into account the procedures of Spanish legislation.
The ongoing pilot training programmes will be finalised as planned. The employees that are working in Pirkkala’s aircraft maintenance at Patria Aviation Oy were not included in the negotiations.
