Patria continues as Fingrid's maintenance partner

Patria and the Finnish transmission system operator Fingrid have signed an agreement for the maintenance of gas turbines at reserve power plants. The agreement is valid for three years, with an option for an additional three years. 

"We consider the maintenance partnership very important for security of supply. Patria has decades of experience in gas turbine maintenance and over 20 years of history with Fingrid. We have a 24-hour readiness to go on-site if there are problems. If necessary, we can also take the faulty gas turbine to our Linnavuori facilities for inspection and repair," says Jussi Järvinen, Executive Vice President, Finland Division, Patria.

Fingrid has 8 reserve power plants with over 20 power plant units, ensuring Finland's energy supply even if the largest power plant unit or cross-border transmission connection drops out of the grid. The cooperation includes scheduled annual maintenance of gas turbines, project-based improvement works, urgent repairs, and expert services covering almost all units in Finland.

In addition to the maintenance of gas turbines at reserve power plants, Patria's Linnavuori engine unit also performs maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of the Finnish Air Force’s aircraft engines. Diesel engines are also maintained and repaired at Linnavuori, such as the Finnish Navy’s marine engines, The Finnish Army’s Leopard tank engines, and nuclear power plant diesel generators. The Linnavuori engine factory has been securing Finland's security of supply since the 1940s.
