Patria Group's environmental sustainability is directed by its environmental policy, relevant environmental legislation, international principles, and customer requirements related to environmental sustainability.
The material aspects of Patria's environmental sustainability, based on double materiality analysis, include climate change mitigation and adaptation, energy efficiency, and circular economy, which encompasses waste recycling.
Patria has been committed to the Science Based Target initiative since 2022 and to promote sustainable development in its operations by means of concrete measures. Read more at SBTi.
Patria has received final approval for its near-term targets 2030. These targets align with the Paris Agreement and support the ambition to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius.
Patria’s validated emission reduction near-term targets 2030 are:
- Reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 (own operations) emissions by 42% by 2030 compared to the baseline year 2023
- Reduce absolute scope 3 (value chain) emissions by 25% by 2030 compared to the baseline year 2023
The targets apply to the entire Patria Group, including all subsidiaries and the Millog Group. The biggest impact on lowering emissions comes from co-operation with the value chain, as it represents majority of Group’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Key measures to reduce own emissions include sustainably produced electricity and heating and reducing emissions in our own energy production.
Materials are used resource efficiently to avoid waste in Patria's operations. With maintenance, repair and overhaul activities Patria extends the lifecycle of its own and customers’ products. Commitment to circular economy includes avoiding, reducing, reusing, recycling and in the end disposing of waste created in operations.
Patria Group’s has been persistently doing sustainability work for years, and during 2023-2024 the Group has prepared for the EU’s corporate sustainability reporting directive (CSRD) in advance.
